Match and lineup is the process of designing, fabricating, and installing sections of switchgear to existing switchgear. Done properly, the new equipment matches and lines up with the original equipment. Ideally, the newly supplied equipment will be totally interchangeable with the existing equipment. If it is not interchangeable it is called an "add-on".
